Funeral takes place today of young Carlow man who died in shooting incident

The young man killed in an accidental shooting in County Carlow earlier this week will be laid to rest today.

Paul Fitzpatrick, aged in his early twenties, died in the incident in the Leighlinbridge area late on Tuesday night.

There’s been an outpouring of grief which has rippled across the county and beyond for his family and friends with Mayor Paul Doogue asking people to be mindful of all impacted.

Funeral mass takes place this morning at 11am in St. Andrew’s Church Bagenalstown after which he’ll be laid to rest in Wells Cemetery Royal Oak.
