The 15th annual Snowdrop Gala takes place in County Carlow today and is widely acknowledged as one of the highlights of the Irish horticultural calendar.
The morning portion of the event will be held at Ballykealy Manor House, before the afternoon session at Altamont Gardens, which will feature a guided tour scheduled to commence at 3pm.
Speaking to KCLR News, gala spokesperson Hester Forde said the day-long event continues to generate huge support from local, national and international visitors.
“We’ve always had huge support from the north of Ireland and I’m from Cork myself so a big southern contingency and over the years Germany, the Netherlands, with quite a few coming from
England again this year as we head last year,” he said.
“We’re booked solid and our speakers this year are John Massey from Ashwood, North trees and Garden and the new head gardener from Campbell in Scotland, so we’re really looking forward to it.” he added.
