Stunned winner Rachel Walsh was crowned Kilkenny Rose at weekend

The newly crowned Kilkenny Rose says she only entered the competition to make friends and never thought she’d win it.

Rachel Walsh from Threecastles will now go on to represent the county in the Rose Of Tralee Festival this August.

Speaking on The KCLR Daily she said she was stunned when her name was announced on Saturday evening at the county selection:
