Motorist detected in Kilkenny to be charged with dangerous driving after extreme speed

A driver caught travelling speeding on the M9 in Kilkenny yesterday afternoon is set to face court.

The motorist was detected travelling at 186km per hour at Danesfort by Thomastown Roads Policing Unit.

Gardaí say the driver, in a new Volkswagen Golf, will be charged with dangerous driving.

They’ve also warned that speed is simply not acceptable.
