The Government is signing off on the final details of a fuel support package for the agriculture and haulage sector.
It follows nationwide protests by farmers, fishermen, hauliers and coach providers over rising fuel costs.
The subsidy scheme includes a €100 million package for the agriculture sector.
For hauliers, it will be based on how many vehicles over three and a half tonnes they have.
Tánaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris says the measures will benefit the average homeowner too, by bringing down inflation.
The supports signed off today will be given between now and July, and payments are back dated to March.
KCLR News’ Martin Quilty was out and about getting reaction from locals and visitors on how the fuel crisis is effecting them.
