Carlow Kilkenny Sinn Féin TD Natasha Newsome Drennan is calling for a public meeting in Castlecomer following a high-level briefing with Uisce Éireann last week.
The Deputy raised a chronic shortage of water in the town and was informed of a major new plan to pipe supply into the area from Troyswood in the city.
Councillors too had an update re same in recent weeks (details here).
She also challenged the utility on persistent leaks in Ferrybank and low pressure in Bennettsbridge.
Deputy Newsome Drennan told KCLR News; “These issues have been dragging for years, it’s just not right that progress has just been so, so slow, I’ve asked for Uisce Éireann/Irish Water to come to ‘Comer for a public meeting on their plans for fresh water for the area”.
