Working together is the best way to prevent and combat crime.
That’s the message more than 150 people heard at the Kilkenny Local Community Safety Partnership‘s “Safer Together” event last night.
Over 20 organisations and support groups were represented to engage with interested individuals on a range of associated topics.
Garda Supt. Sean O’Meara told KCLR News’ Martin Quilty that for cybercrime in particular it’s important that awareness is created; “As quickly as we seen them, we try and get them out whether it be through the text alert or through yourselves (media) which is a huge help to us getting it out to people, we can’t underestimated really the role ye play in getting our message out to people, we only have so many guards, we can’t talk to every person in the county and without yourselves and others it’s very hard to get to everybody”.
Stay tuned for more from the gathering across today and, as always, if you’ve something to say about this or another topic please text/whatsapp straight to studio: 083 306 96 96.
