Carlow Councillor Fergal Browne has raised safety concerns about the busy Link Road at Brownshill, warning that new housing developments will significantly increase traffic.
He believes parts of the route, particularly near Murphy’s Corner, are already too narrow and need urgent widening.
While a decision on the Southern Relief Road is expected next month, Councillor Brown is calling for immediate upgrades once the route is confirmed.
He warns that without improvements, the risk of a serious accident is high – hear his conversation with KCLR News’ Martin Quilty here;
