A Carlow creation has made it to the Cannes Film Festival.
The 2026 offering has seen Miss Ireland Caoimhe Kenny showcase a number of Junk Kouture outfits – including Shellsational which was designed by Daria Velychko and NIa Pavliashvili of St Leo’s College.

Crafted from pistachio shells and orange peel it displays the striking transformation of food waste into wearable art.

Caoimhe also donned ‘Blind Ambition’ made from repurposed blinds by Aoife McDermott and Jessica McLaughlin of Carndonagh Community School, Donegal and ‘The Last Cut’, comprising old butcher aprons and recycled zips, from Presentation Secondary School, Wexford’s Róisín Doyle and Caoimhe Doyle.
