The newly elected Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council says he is honoured to take on the role.
Fine Gael’s Tommy Kinsella was selected by his peers at yesterday’s AGM and he committed to serving communities across the county.
His immediate priority is securing funding for flood-damaged roads in South Carlow and he stressed the importance of listening to constituents through direct engagement.
Cllr Kinsella was last in the role 16 years ago and praised the cooperation of fellow elected members, telling KCLR News’; “We may have our differences and may have different opinion but you have to be able to work with people, everyone has a goal for Carlow, like, we might have different ways of doing it but I’m a good listener and I’m prepared to listen and work with people and not forgetting there over the years my position was made very much easier by the help of the staff”.
