Kilkenny GAA has confirmed that Gordon Byrne will remain in charge of the county’s minor hurlers for the 2027 season.
The Erin’s Own clubman was officially ratified at a meeting of the Kilkenny County Board on Tuesday night and will now embark on his second year at the helm.
The biggest addition to Byrne’s management team is former Kilkenny great Tommy Walsh, who joins as a coach and selector. The Tullaroan man enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in hurling history, winning nine All-Ireland senior titles and nine All-Star awards during his time in the black and amber.
The ratification comes following a season that saw Kilkenny reach the Leinster Minor Hurling Final before narrowly losing to Galway after extra time.
