Fianna Fáil Councillor Daniel Pender has welcomed the approval of planning permission for 62 new homes on the Fenagh Road outside Bagenalstown, saying it represents an important opportunity for families and young people to establish themselves locally.
The Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Muinebheag Municipal District, Cllr. Pender had backed the earlier decision to retain the land’s residential zoning, despite a recommendation from council officials to de-zone it.
He says the development will support people in staying within their communities and described the approval as a key milestone, subject to the statutory appeal period.
