One man arrested during major safety operation in Kilkenny yesterday

Operation Intro has been described as a major success by the Divisional Roads Policing Inspector Paul Donohoe.

Gardaí carried out 147 breath tests and 42 roadside drug tests during the operation.

One motorist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, while another was arrested for driving while disqualified.

Three vehicles were seized and a number of fixed charge penalty notices were issued for offences including faulty number plates, bald tyres and no motor tax.
