Housing charity reports rising demand for support in Carlow and Kilkenny

More than 250 households in Carlow and Kilkenny received support from housing charity Threshold last year.

Its latest annual report shows the organisation assisted 159 households in Carlow and 92 in Kilkenny, with termination notices remaining the biggest issue facing renters.

In Carlow, 67 households were identified as being at risk of homelessness, including 52 children.

Threshold says the figures underline the need for stronger protections for renters and a significant increase in affordable housing supply.
