Carlow was one of the busiest counties in Ireland for new car registrations last year.
New research from 123 insurance found Carlow was fourth behind Dublin, Cork and Kildare when it came to new registrations in 2025 with Kilkenny further down the list in eighth spot.

Locally 15% of the new cars registered in Carlow and Kilkenny were fully electric models while Petrol was the most popular option in both.
