Tullow Municipal District Councillors are seeking a meeting with Net Zero Energy, the company that wishes to develop a €2 billion long duration energy storage facility outside Rathoe.
Net Zero Energy (NZE) plans to develop a 600 megawatt underground facility which would generate green hydrogen to provide electricity which would save an estimated 180 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
The company has already met with the full Council to discuss the proposal – however, some Tullow District members weren’t in a position to attend that meeting. Net Zero Energy will “answer all questions” on proposed Carlow energy park
Fianna Fail Councillor John Pender (Tullow MD) feels that Net Zero Energy should meet with local political representatives ahead of their submitting a planning application in an attempt to allay worries that have been relayed to him locally.
NZE will hold a public information day at Rathoe Community Hall on Wednesday, August 12th
