Evergreen will be hoping to continue their impressive FAI Junior Cup run when they travel to Limerick this Sunday to face Pike Rovers in the quarter-finals.
Kick-off is at 2pm, with a place in the last four up for grabs.
Gary Maher’s side booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 victory over Colga in Galway, with Ben Hickey scoring the decisive goal.
That followed another narrow win over Donegal opposition, with Ify Nzewi scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Kildrum Tigers.
Evergreen had earlier made an emphatic start to their FAI Junior Cup campaign, defeating Kildare Town 4-1.
Now they face arguably their toughest test yet in the shape of Pike Rovers.
The Limerick side are former winners of the FAI Junior Cup and will have ambitions of adding another title to their history, making Sunday’s quarter-final a serious test for Evergreen.
For Gary Maher’s players, it’s another chapter in what has already been a remarkable season.
The Evergreen squad have been going virtually year-round, competing in the league, Kilkenny Cup competitions, Leinster competition and now the FAI Junior Cup.
They have reached the FAI Junior Cup final on two previous occasions, but have never managed to get their hands on the prestigious trophy.
They’ll be hoping this is the year they can finally go one step further.
Supporters’ Bus To Limerick
Evergreen are also encouraging supporters to make the trip, with a supporters’ bus running to Limerick for Sunday’s quarter-final.
Anyone looking to travel with the supporters can contact the club to book their place.
With a semi-final place at stake and Pike Rovers standing in their way, all roads lead to Limerick this Sunday for Evergreen.
