After twelve successful years, tomorrow will be Mr. Hurley’s last day as Chief Executive of Kilkenny Chamber.
John has represented Kilkenny’s interests at the Chambers Ireland table and has acted as a regular media spokesperson for local commerce as part of the largest lobbying group in the country.
The Board and members of the Kilkenny Chamber say they wish John continued success in his next chapter and sincerely thank him for his contributions.
Mr Hurley joined Brian Redmond on today’s KCLR Daily and reflected on his time as CEO of the Chamber.
Over the course of his tenure, Mr Hurley transformed the Kilkenny Business Awards into a highly anticipated professional event and introduced the Kilkenny Gift Voucher Schemes, which have contributed to more than €1.6 million in local spending since he started.
The soon former CEO says his commitment and his consistency are the things that he is most proud of during his time with Kilkenny Chamber.
“I have been honoured and privileged to be the one that’s been leading it (Kilkenny Chamber) as CEO for the last twelve years”.
“It is a type of role, that for me anyway, I had to be totally immersed in. So, I became the Chamber and the Chamber became me”.
“It was a never ending non-stop rollercoaster to be honest”.
