The funeral of Annmarie O’Reilly took place earlier today, where she was remembered as warm, kind and a loving mother.
The mother-of-three was laid to rest following requiem mass at St John’s Church in Kilkenny City.
This morning at her funeral mass, symbols of Annmarie’s life brought to the altar included a bible, a crucifix, a can of Red Bull, her Louis Vuitton handbag and her favourite perfume.
Parish Priest Father Dan Carroll told mourners how pleasant she was to meet, “always smiling, always nice, genuinely warm and someone who could brighten your day without even trying”.
“A life doesn’t have to be long and famous to touch many people” he said, noting the people who had travelled from all over to pay their respects.
Originally from St. Mary’s Crescent on the Hebron road, O’Reilly was found with serious injuries when emergency services were called to a house on Ferntree, Gully Road, Melbourne on the 18th of August.
A 45-year-old Irish man has been charged with her murder.
