Carlow and I.T Carlow begin O Byrne cup campaigns today

Carlow’s 2014 inter county season gets underway today as they host Longford at 2pm in the O Byrne Cup.

The game will feature the Black card after last night’s opening o Byrne cup game saw two players receive the sanction for cynical fouls during DCU’s win over Louth.

I.T Carlow also begin their campaign today as they face Wicklow in Ashford at 2pm.

Holders Kildare start their campaign to regain the trophy, with a home tie against Athlone IT in Newbridge.

Elsewhere, All-Ireland Champions Dublin travel to Mullingar to take on Westmeath.
