If you have a long overdue book belonging to Carlow Library and your afraid to bring it back, don’t be.
That’s the message from the county’s librarians as they’re holding an amnesty for overdue loans for the month of April.
They’re asking all people with overdue items to tell them their best excuse for not returning a book and the longest overdue book they’ve returned.
The people with the best excuses will have all fines waived, no questions asked.
John Shortall is the Executive Librarian in Carlow, he says they want to encourage people into the libraries, not scare them away.
