Election candidate unhappy with ESB for statement on election posters

As election posters continue to appear across the local landscape one candidate is unhappy with ESB Networks.

They’ve issued a statement warning against the use of electricity poles as poster sites for the upcoming elections.

But Labours Michael O’ Brien who is Vice president for the Association of city & county councils says posters are an ‘expression of democracy’.

And he says while he understands that safety has to be a consideration its important that people have the chance to see the candidates they can vote for.
