An epic All-Ireland hurling qualifier between Clare and Wexford will have to go to a replay.
It’s ended level at Cusack Park in Ennis, after both sides played out a stunning draw as the match ended 2-25 epiece after extra time.
Clare’s bid to retain the Liam McCarthy Cup looked in trouble, as they trailed by 4 points late on in normal time.
Conor McDonald and Liam Og McGovern had netted for Wexford in the first half, while Clare also had Podge Collins sent off just before half time.
But Clare fought back late on to draw the game, with Seadna Morey netting for the Banner after Tony Kelly had his penalty saved, while Conor Ryan scored the equaliser in the closing moments to send the game to extra time.
A Conor McGrath goal for Clare in extra time looked to have given his side the advantage, but Wexford held firm.
McGrath also scored a late point for Clare that edged them ahead in the final minute.
But Paul Morris replied for Wexford with almost the last puck of the game, as the match ended 2-25 apiece.
The replay will take place next Saturday.
