Cartoon Saloon tipped for another Oscar nomination

It won’t be released here until the Spring but the new animated film from Kilkennys Cartoon Saloon is being hotly tipped as a contender for the Oscars.

Song of the Sea will make its European premiere at the London Film Festival next weekend – its directed by Tomm Moore in Cartoon Saloon who also directed the Oscar nominated Secret of Kells.

Indiewire has made its predictions in the various categories and says Song of the Sea has a very good shot for a nomination for Best Animated feature.

The Lego movie is thought to be a frontrunner for the category.
