There ‘s deep shock being expressed in South KIlkenny today after the death of a Piltown native in Donegal.
Jimmy Cuddihy moved to Carndonagh in the 60s and taught maths at the local Tech and Community Schools for nearly 40 years.
His sister Joan is the wife of respected Kilkenny GAA County Board member Eddie Blackmore .
Known locally as Seamus, he has 3 other sisters still living in the Piltown area and a brother in Portlaw and were regular visitors to the area as the family were very close.
The Cats fan was also at the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final Replay.
The bodies of Jimmy and his wife Kathleen were found at their home in Carndonagh yesterday morning.
A hatchet found at the house is being examined as part of the investigation.
A 42 year old man is being questioned at Buncrana Garda Station.
Parish Priest in Piltown, Fr Pascal Moore, says it’s very hard on all the Family in Kilkenny given the circumstances, but that the whole community will give them any help and support they can.
