The Labour Party have “high hopes for the by-election” in May.
That’s according to Junior Minister Ann Phelan who says she has every intention of joining her party’s candidate, Carlow Councillor Willie Quinn, on the campaign trail in the coming weeks.
With just over 9 weeks to go, Fianna Fáil candidate Bobby Aylward yesterday announced that party leader Mícheál Martin would be visiting the constituency at least once a week.
Speaking to KCLR Minister Phelan says we can expect a number of senior Labour members to also make an appearance.
