A Carlow councillor is calling for Rathvilly and Hacketstown to be brought back into the Carlow/Kilkenny constituency.
Fine Gael’s Brian O’Donoghue made the call after it emerged that Rathvilly/Hacketstown is one of a number of rural areas in the country to be without a full time GP for over two years now.
Councillor O’Donoghue says the area is in complete ‘political limbo’ because of the fact that they are in the Wicklow constituency when it comes to general elections but the Carlow area for local elections.
Speaking to KCLR, Brian says areas like Hacketstown and Rathvilly are falling through the cracks.
