A Kilkenny woman responsible for one of the most successful Irish inventions has raised 5 million euro through crowdfunding.
Jane ní Dhulchaointigh, the founder & CEO of Sugru -is a mouldable silicone product – offered people the opportunity to invest in her company this year through crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.
2 thousand 700 bids came through and Jane will hand over a 13 percent stake in the company.
It will see Sugru valued at around 38 million euro now.
The company, which manufactures the magic rubber product in east London, plans to expand into more retail outlets across Europe and the US with the money raised.
