Locals to be consulted on plans for new speed limits for Carlow housing estates

Housing estates in Carlow could soon see new speed limits and monitoring devices installed.

The scheme will be advertised by the County Council in the next couple of months and would see a maximum limit of 30 kilometres per hour set in council-owned estates.

It’s hoped that bye-laws will then be introduced which can be enforced by Gardaí.

Fine Gael Councillor Michael Doran told KCLR news that locals will be invited to submit their views on the matter.
