Local farmers to get their share of multi-million euro emergency package

There’s some good news for local farmers who are set to get their share of a 14 million euro aid package within weeks.

Measures to address difficulties being experienced by farmers in the dairy & pigmeat sectors in particular have been announced by the Agriculture Minister.

There will be advances under the direct payments and the rural development schemes.

The first payments will be made by mid-October.
