Carlow’s Chief Executive says it may be 2017 before work on Penneys site complete

It seems predictions that work would start on the Penneys site in Carlow before the end of 2015 are a little premature.

Acting Chief Executive of the county council Dan McInerney told KCLR Live this morning that he understands the developer hopes the project will be complete by the end of 2017.

Yesterday Deputy Pat Deering indicated that building work on the site was imminent.

But Mr McInerney says that’s probably a little optimistic.
