Man of the match performance for O Brien but could come at a cost

Tullow man Sean O Brien faces an anxious wait to see if he’s been cited for a punch in the stomach to Frances Pascal Pape in yesterdays 24-9 win over France.

He was named man of the match.

Ireland captain Paul O’Connell could miss the rest of the tournament after he was stretchered off during the game and Joe Schmidt says the situation doesn’t look good.

Peter O’Mahony has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with a knee injury.

The victory yesterday means they’ll face Argentina in the Millennium Stadium next Sunday at 1pm in the quarter finals.
