Apology from St Lukes Hospital for smoking incident on a ward

St Lukes Hospital has had to apologise to patients who were exposed to smoking on a ward this week.

A KCLR listener raised his concerns after visiting his father who is recovering from surgery at the hospital on Monday

He told KCLR Live he was shocked to see somebody on the ward smoking and brought his concerns to staff there.

Meanwhile the hospital has apologised for the incident which they say is currently being addressed by the patients clinical team and hospital management.

In a statement to KCLR the HSE says its an isolated incident relating to one patient and a no smoking policy in place at the hospital  is adhered to be patients, staff and visitors.
