Inistioge Post Office still in danger of closing

It seems the threat of closure still hangs over Inistioge Post Office.

The postmistress there is due to retire next week but so far there have been no suitable applications made for taking up the 5-year contract on offer from An Post.

An extra 2 weeks is being given now for interested parties to come forward.

However, Councillor Michael Doyle says losing the service is now a real possibility.
