Another Independent candidate declares for Carlow-Kilkenny election

Another candidate has entered the race to win one of 5 Dáil seats up for grabs in Carlow and Kilkenny.

Carlow-based Keith Gilligan who is known locally for his work with the Right2Change campaign has declared he will be contesting the upcoming election as an Independent.

It brings to 15 the number of candidates running in this constituency.

Each of them has until noon on Thursday to file nomination papers to ensure their name is on the ballot paper.
