Clare O’Mahony is a Cork based writer and singer of fine songs. She’s just released a new album of new material and while it took a little longer to make than expected is well worth the wait. She combines a keen ear for melody with some finely crafted lyric. She has a rare and distinctive voice that can command rapt attention, which happened memorably in a recent visit to Kilkenny with one of her songs “Watson’s Field”, which she kindly performed for me in Studio 2.

She plays at Cleere’s Kilkenny on Saturday, April 23rd as a double bill with Kilkenny band “The Southern Fold”.
