Kilkenny’s Lyrath Estate Hotel has been sold for well over €20m to an Irish consortium of buyers.
That’s according to the Irish Time who are reporting that the sale went through this week.
The Irish times reported yesterday that the Lyrath Estate Hotel, which lies on 170 acres of land, was sold for well above €20m.
The paper claims that it was sold to an Irish consortium of buyers who plan to invest further in the site, which was developed at a boom-time cost of €50m.
The hotel was built around the 17th century residence on the outskirts of the city, and opened in 2006, with 139 rooms and banquet facilites.
KCLR news understands the new buyers were represented by Conor Pyne of O’Connor Pyne and Co Accountants.
Lyrath was developed by well-known businessman and holtelier Xavier McAuliffee who developed serveral Irish and South African hotels.
