“It is very clear Europe still needs a cohesion policy and it needs one that is properly resourced.”
That’s the view of MEP Kathleen Funchion who has warned that the region is missing vital opportunities to develop its economies and communities due to a policy that doesn’t adequately acknowledge and reflect the its unique aspects.
Her comments came during a recent exchange with Commissioner Elisa Ferreira of the Committee for Regional Development.
MEP Funchion told KCLR news it was a helpful conversation and she detailed to the Commissioner how there’s a lack of funding in the South East Region and that she intends on pushing for more funding and resources.
