ACS withdraws from plan to run local dog shelter

Kilkenny county council will have to go back to the drawing board when it comes to the future running of Carlow-Kilkenny Dog shelter.
Its after ACS withdrew from the tender process for providing the service in Paulstown.
They had been due to take over there this month from the ISPCA who opted not to renew their contract when it expired.
They have now agreed to stay running the pound until the 25th of September.
Councillor Malcolm Noonan says the council will now have to decide what happens next.
Councillor Andrew McGuinness chairs the Animal Welfare committee – he’d like to see the local authority take over at the facility.
