Roads around Carlow and Kilkenny have been extensively treated by the county councils again this morning after further freezing conditions overnight.
The heavy snow showers stopped yesterday evening but temperatures dropped below zero again last night freezing any of the lying snow.
A yellow weather warning in effect until 10am has now been lifted after Met Eireann warned of Slippery paths and roads due to accumulation of ice on untreated surfaces
Thirteen council crews were out all day Sunday in Carlow and most were sent out again early this morning.
Gritters and salters were out on priority routes around Kilkenny at 8pm yesterday evening and again until 7am this morning.
