A local woman is celebrating this morning after being crowned the Carlow Rose, following a selection night last night in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel.
Katie Ryan, who currently lives just outside Tullow, will represent Carlow for the next two years, including during the televised Rose of Tralee festival in August.

Katie has run her own yoga business since 2022, and works with local gyms, active retirement groups, and schools.
Katie will take over from outgoing Carlow Rose Caoimhe Deering, who has represented the county since 2023.
A busy few weeks for Katie will also see her starting a new job as the equality, diversity and inclusion co-ordinator with Hockey Ireland.

Katie enjoys travel, completing two J1s during her time in college, where she worked at camps for adults and children with disabilities in California.
In addition, Katie previously went solo travelling for 5 months throughout Asia, completing volunteer work and her yoga teacher training.
