Update – The N76 has since reopened to traffic since 1:15pm this afternoon
A pedestrian has been hospitalised after she was knocked down in Co. Kilkenny last night.
Emergency services attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan shortly before 9pm.
The woman, who is in her thirties, was brought to St Luke’s Hosptial, Kilkenny, to be treated for serious injuries. It understood that no one else was injured in the incident.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and are seeking and camera footage (including dash-cam) from anyone who may have been travelling in the area between 8.45pm and 9.15pm last night.
