Gardaí in Thomastown say an investigation is ongoing following an incident in Tullogher yesterday.
They were called to a disturbance at a home shortly before 9am where they were confronted by a man brandishing a knife.
They sought assistance from the armed support unit and the man was subsequently arrested.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
