Arts & Dementia conference in Kilkenny today

An international conference on the Arts and Dementia is taking place in Kilkenny today.

The Butler Gallery is hosting the event which will explore the roles artists, museums and galleries play in making our society more dementia-friendly.

The line-up for the conference includes speakers from Manchester, Florence, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, and the Irish Dementia Working Group.

Barbara-Ann Harkin from the Butler Gallery told KCLR News there’s plenty of evidence that dementia sufferers can get a lot out of participating in the arts.
