Preparations for 2016 are well underway in one Carlow Town.
A monument commemorating those who fought in the rising which took place 100 years ago next year, has been commissioned for Bagenalstown.

Local Fine Gael Councillor Denis Foley told KCLR News it should be unveiled in time for the centenary.
