One of Carlow’s national monuments could be developed as a tourist site.
Browneshill Dolmen which is around 3 kilometers outside of Carlow Town is a portal dolmen which is around 4,000 years old.
The large ancient structure – the capstone of which weighs around 100 metric tons making it one of the heaviest in Europe – already attracts a good number of visitors each year.
Speaking to KCLR News, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Fergal Browne, says an archaeological dig may also be in line for the site.
