Interview: Fay Hield

To call Fay Hield a folk singer is to seriously undersell her many talents. As well as her renowned singing career and two sublime albums of her own, Fay has recently undertaken a major work of collection and re-imagination of the folk songs of her country. Not only did she manage this on a scholarly level, she also brought together some of the best names in English folk music to record and tour this highly enjoyable album.

Fingers crossed that the album becomes the classic it deserves to be.
