Cabinet need to be able to take risky or significant decisions and stand by them says Carlow Kilkenny TD

He adds there's some abdication of responsibility

John McGuinness says Cabinet need to be able to take risky or significant decisions and stand by them, but it’s not doing it.

The Carlow Kilkenny FF TD has been critical of senior Ministers for agreeing to delay the reopening of indoor hospitality but then blaming the Chief Medical Officer for it.

A number of ministers were reported to have been shocked by the suddenness and severity of the warnings from Dr Tony Holohan this week able the dangers of the delta variant of Covid-19.

Deputy McGuinness says they should have either found a way to continue with the reopening or stand by their decision to halt the plans.

And he says they are abdicating their responsibility.
