Calls for the Government to fund life-saving drug for local Cystic Fibrosis sufferer

A local Cystic Fibrosis sufferer is calling on the government to fund a life-saving drug for her and her brother.

Kelsey Nolan is a 19-year-old from Carlow who was diagnosed with the genetically inherited chronic disease when she was in her infancy and her brother also has the same.

It was recently announced that a new drug called Orkambi could vastly improve the lives of 60% of CF sufferers.

However it now appears funding isn’t being provided for it.

Speaking to KCLR Live, Kelsey says she took to Facebook to express her frustration.
