Car sales in Carlow and Kilkenny lower than national average so far for 2017

Carlow and Kilkenny car sales are down more than the national average this year, according to the latest figures.

According to www.motorcheck.ie new car registrations in Ireland are down an average of 10% for the first half of this year when compared to 2016.

In Carlow, they’re down 11.5 % – from 1,221 to 1,081.

While in Kilkenny, the decrease is steeper than that at 14.7 % – to just over 1700 sold this year this year.

Speaking to KCLR, Ward Kinsella of Barlo Nissan in Kilkenny says we have to bear in mind that 2016 was an abnormally good year for car sales.
